Valentin Rekunenko is an established Ukrainian artist, who has exhibited his works in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Turkey and the USA.His works are featured in the collections of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
He is both painter and graphic artist and composes works in a range of styles. Today, Rekuneko is most commonly known for his oil on canvas paintings that immerse the viewer into colorful fantastical fairy-tale cities. The other storylines of his oeuvre are scenes with ballerinas and funny cats. While his fascinating cheerful fairy-tale paintings piece together classical techniques and his inner child’s aesthetic, his graphic works are often abstract and filled with psychological insight and unconscious elements.
